Prison Architect 2 Gets Last Minute Delay To September

Prison simulator Prison Architect 2has been delayedagain.Originally planned to bereleasedin March,the game was delayed to May. Now it will be released on September 3rd.

Lessthan a monthbeforeitsrelease, publisher Paradox Interactive  experiencing problems with Prison Architect2.‘Werecentlyranstability tests onthelatest version of the game and noticedfrequentunexpected issues, especiallyinlow-specenvironments.

Afteridentifyingthisissue, webeganworkingtoimprove Prison Architect 2‘s memory usage toalleviatethe situation. Overall,thisworkwassuccessfulandimprovementswereseenonlow-spec machines and consoles.

The publisheralsonotedthat the memory fixes caused new is sueson other PC configurations, mainly crashes.Fixingtheseissuesreduced thetimeavailabletopolishthe gamefor release.Acertified version of the gameis ready for releaseon all platforms,butthe publisher wants toreleasethegamein the bestpossiblecondition, hence thelongdelay. It believesthatthe new memory usage system will significantly improvetheplayer experience in the long run.

Paradox Interactive also released a statement this week about another game it‘sreleasing this week, City Skylines II,notingthe game’sdifficultstate and rushed contentplanning.

The first Prison Architect game was released in 2015;inGameSpot’sreview of Prison Architect, we wrote:‘This is Prison Architect’sstrange duality. Prison Architect 2 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
